HOW ELECTRICITY IS MADE

TEACHER'S NOTES

  • KS2 Programmes of study
  • This section will help your students understand how the energy in various materials is released to create electricity, and how energy can be transformed into different forms.

MAIN TEACHING POINTS

  • Electricity is just one type of energy. Energy can never be destroyed, but it can change from one form to another.

  • Electricity is made by releasing the energy in fuels - ie. coal, gas or oil - or from renewable resources - like wind and moving water.
